Backplane Zoning

Without enabling the zoning on a AIC backplane, all SAS ports and HDD slots are assigned to Group 1.

After enabling the zoning, this is also the pre-config.If you like to isolate HDD slots from other slots and communicate over a dedicated SAS port, you will have to configure them in one of the isolated disk groups (9/10/11/12)

After you put the disks in a new group, you will also have to assign a SAS port to this group. In the following example, i will split a 24back backplane is 2 groups and each group will have 2 SAS ports.
